12 MAY 2019, BY MY PASSPORT TO SHANGRILA
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is an incredible city that has something to offer everyone. From the stunning Petronas Towers, The Menara Tower (the tallest tower in SE Asia), the Batu Caves, incredible shopping, amazing food, and a solid nightlife scene; this city is definitely one of my favourite places in Asia. I’ve spent a good amount of time here and I’m going to suggest the one thing you absolutely must do when you visit.
THE SKY BAR AT THE TRADERS HOTEL
One of the city’s most popular rooftop bars, the SkyBar is award winning. It’s located high up on the 33rd floor, and features a great variety of cocktails, nightly DJs and the amazing view of the Petronas Twin Towers.
Not only does the SkyBar, one of most prestigious of the Kuala Lumpur hotels, have outstanding views, it also has a pool running through the middle of it should you wish to go for a dip.
The SkyBar is open from 10am -1am and is a really great place to come and relax. You can grab a drink, a coffee and have some food and just enjoy the view on the comfy lounges.
I was only meant to have one cocktail to say I had experienced the bar but the views, the music, the cocktails and the food enticed me so much I stayed a little longer to be memorised as the lights of the twin towers illuminated the buildings.
For residents of the Traders Hotel access to the SkyBar is free. For non-residents there is an entry fee. I won’t divulge the price as this may have changed since my last visit. It wasn’t grossly expensive though. There is an age limit to use the SkyBar too. From 7pm visitors must be of 21 years of age.
